Incredibly, we only have three school days left of this term before we break for the Christmas holiday. We have kept our normal timetable going for as long as we can, as this helps everyone to stay calm and relatively sane and this will be the case on Monday and Tuesday morning next week. The children are all coping well with the pre-Christmas excitement but are looking forward to the various extra activities we have planned for next week as well.
Tuesday 19th December
We are holding our Christmas Jumper Day on Tuesday. Children are very welcome to wear any seasonal or festive jumper or outfit that they are comfortable with and, as always, we are hoping that everyone will feel able to donate £1.00 to Save The Children for the pleasure and privilege of looking silly!
On Tuesday lunchtime and afternoon, we are holding a party for all the children at The Chapel. Robert has been incredibly active raising money to pay for all the activities and gaining sponsorship for the food and drink for the party and the afternoon. This is the first time that we have ever held a party like this here at the school and we are all looking forward to it immensely. My thanks to Robert who has spent a lot of his own time getting this organised and to the band of willing helpers he has here at school who are assisting with the organisation and running of the party on the day.
The children do not have to bring any food with them for lunchtime, unless you feel that they will feel more secure eating what they normally eat. The party and games will be followed by a disco at The Chapel, or for those that would prefer it, a film back at school. Any children who find this type of activity difficult to manage will be able to continue with their normal timetable as usual.
The children working in the Vinery will eat their lunches here at school as usual and we will then go down to The Chapel to join in the fun. The party and games will be followed by a disco at The Chapel, or for those that would prefer it, a film back at school. The children in the Vinery will be able to come and go as they want to throughout the afternoon.
This week the children have made special trips out to buy a present for another child here at school ready for the Secret Santa on Tuesday afternoon.
Wednesday 20th December
We will be holding our end of term get together at the Chapel for parents and other family members, guests, children and staff on Wednesday morning from 11.30 to 12.30. There will be refreshments available and Kat has been busy putting together the annual presentation for you to enjoy. I have no idea what is in it yet, but from what I have heard it promises to be an entertaining experience.
All the children and staff have been busy making items to sell on the Enterprise Stall. There is a large variety of things on offer, so please bring lots of money to treat yourself and to buy some last-minute presents and stocking fillers. All money raised will be given to The Friends of Park House School to go towards their funds for the new Basket Swing.
The Friends of Park House School
On Wednesday there will be an ‘on the day’ raffle for seasonal items. The money raised will also go towards the Friends fund raising total.
Friends of Park House School Facebook Group Page
Adam and Kirsty have set up a Facebook Group for the Friends of Park House School. We have been trialling this and it is now open to parents and other interested family members if they would like to join. In order to join the group, which is a closed group, you will need to search for Friends of Park House School, click on the link and then send in a request. This will be authorised by Adam and you can then see the posts that are already up on the site.
Free Circus Ticket
We have been given free tickets to distribute for Circus Starr, which will take place on Sunday 14th January 2018 at Peterborough Regional College, on Park Crescent in Peterborough. The performance starts at 1.30 p.m. If you would like tickets we will have some with us on Wednesday morning, or you could give Danielle a ring if you are not able to join us.
Hopefully, I will be able to wish you a very Happy Christmas in person on Wednesday, but if not, I hope that you have a very enjoyable and relaxing Christmas and New Year. School starts again after the Christmas break on Thursday 4th January.
