During the week beginning 12th October all students will in some way take part within REACH week, this gives all the pupils the opportunity to interact with students and key workers they wouldn’t on a normal day to day basis.
This is an exciting week had by all, with lots of different opportunities to undertake.
Monday – The morning will be focused on the pupils Social interactions followed by swimming in the afternoon, where the children can enjoy water zorbing etc.
Tuesday – Pupils will have the opportunity to go into Peterborough town and work on their Independent skills, other pupils will be partaking in a Geography field trip to the River Welland.
Wednesday – The students will spend the day making and producing different products for the schools Enterprise ‘Tilly’. These can then be sold at the schools coffee mornings and at the Christmas production etc.
Thursday – As most parents are aware the school is now the owner of The Chapel in Thorney, Students will be helping to create a sensory garden within the grounds of the Chapel, they will all have the chance to add there own personal touch.
Friday – We have an exciting end to the week, with the children learning about Japan, as part of our Cultural Awareness within the curriculum, they will have the chance to try different foods and learn parts of the Japanese language etc.
